Welcome to the Hothorpe Hall Recorders Website!
This website contains details about recorder courses at Hothorpe Hall
Monday 14th ‒ Friday 18th July 2014
In the last few years bigger recorders have become more common and more powerful. Ensembles of all sizes now relish playing the occasional piece “at eight foot” and this course gives you the unique opportunity to play a wide variety of repertoire played at this pitch. Playing music at eight foot pitch is tremendously satisfying, resulting in an extremely rich sound.
Monday 15th ‒ Friday 19th July 2013
This course is specifically designed for adults with a little experience of recorder playing who would like to improve their skills. Starting with lunch on the Monday and departing after breakfast on the Friday, the course is packed full of opportunities to extend your recorder technique and build up your confidence as a musician. The atmosphere on the course will be friendly and supportive, allowing you to relax, have a lot of fun and get the very most you can out of your time at Hothorpe Hall.
Thank you again for the brilliant experience at Hothorpe; I now feel that the door into the ‘music world’ has come ajar, whereas before I felt I was just an onlooker.
